westbound commute into hayward is not too bad. >> developing news from calaveras county where investigators hope to hunt down whoever brutally killed an eight year old girl this is unfolding in valley springs 30 miles east of stockton. leila fowler was found stabbed to death inside her home on saturday prompting a lockdown of the town. investigators served a search warrant yesterday and collected fingerprint and d.n.a. evidence at the scene and an autopsy on the little girl is slated for today. zooms are open in the area and a memorial has been set up in honor of her outside her school. >> breaking news from the czech capital of prague where a powerful explosion injured at least 40 people. others may still be buried in the rubble. the explosion happened this morning. authorities say it is likely the blast was a natural gas explosion but the investigation is still under way with windows shattered and hundreds of yards

responding too slowly to emergencies. it is paid more than $4.7 million in fines and faces the first paramedic strike in memory in a year and a half. they were worned that another contract violation could mean the end of the agreement. a spokesman said they have not been out of compliance since being notified in january. san francisco police are looking for whoever ran over an officer's leg during a traffic stop early yesterday morning in the bayview district on hudson avenue the officer was dragged down hudson and hospitalizeds, treated, and released. >> community leaders will hold a summit today on how to ensure safe schools and communities. shootings such as at sandy hook elementary school prompted the gathering and this is the second such gathering. police, mentally health workers and politicians will discuss how they can work together to prevent an attack here in the bay area.

as mount etna erupted for the 13th time this year on the island of of sicily. italian airlines have to change their routes to avoid flying there the ash clouds. >> supreme court justice remains hospitalized after a shoulder replacement surgery and san francisco native. he fractured his right shoulder on friday when he fell off the bicycle. the supreme court justice is resting comfortably and expected to be released this week from the hospital. president clinton appointed breyer to the high court in 1994 and he is 74. >> a young man who suffers from tourette's syndrome was forbidden from flying jetblue because three could not stop himself from saying the word "bomb." he informed airport officials

a brother and sister in studio today. they survived an eight-mile swim over 14 hours through shark infested waters in the caribbean at the fishing boat sank, an unbelievable story but they are here to tell it. also, boy, i grew up in los angeles and i have a lot of feelings for a lot of the northern california teams because that is how i was raised but for some reason i have liked the warriors and i love watching the yellow when everyone is in their yellow shirts and last night stef gave you guys what a performance! these red eyes are a testament to how good he is, what a wonderful story, i love that team. they are thrilled -- a thrill to wash.

the evening. inland we start off mild for the commute and 55 and a warm push of air and 80 by noon and 90 this afternoon. at 7:00 it will be 79. at the coast, we have limited cloud cover and sunshine and 50's at 7:00 and also in between, low-to-mid 60's. >> i have a mixed update if you are headed through the east bay, good news is the crash has cleared westbound 80 but we are left with a five-mile backup with the drive time in a second. to the south, this crash is blocking a lane and westbound 880, and into san jose, northbound 101, you can see this crash is blocking one lane out there with a look at travel time. 80 from highway four to the maze is an hour at 31 minutes and 580

is 46 minutes. >> new developments from calaveras county with a vigil planned to an 8-year-old killed in her home over the weekend. an autopsy is scheduled for today for leila fowler found stabbed in a suspected robbery attempt at her home on saturday. authorities collected fingerprints and d.n.a. evidence from the scene yesterday after a door-to-door certain across the small town turned up nothing. >> doing a house-to-house search and in some cases we are searching extensively in attics and storage sheds. >> more than 100 law enforcement officers are helping to find her killer, described as white or hispanic wearing a black shirt and blue pants and the vigil is scheduled for tomorrow evening

at her elementary school. we have continuing coverage for the search for her killer on air and online at abc7news.com. in the boston bombing investigation, key lawmakers say the tsarnaev brothers may not have acted entirely alone in the attack two weeks ago today. officials look for evidence of outside training. >> investigators still believe that the brothers were lone wolves but clues from the bombs design suggest they may have had help. authorities believe the suspected boston bombers received outside training and are searching for potential suspects. athey cast a wide net overseas and in the united states to find out where the person is but the

experts all agree this is someone would trained these two individuals. >> one clue is reported phone calls from tamerlan tsarnaev and his mother intercepted by a russian wiretap in 2011. they raised russia's concern but were only provided the u.s. officials last week. >> they talked about jihad. why didn't the russians let us know that earlier? they should have. we are asking why. >> tamerlan traveled to russia for six months where he may have become radicalized. >> i believe there are "persons of interest" in russia where i think they went from yes i am ready for jihad to here is how you conduct act of violence. >> tamerlan's body is unclaimed in boston while the younger brother is in federal prison medical center in 100 square foot cell and authorities are searching for what inspired them

to terrorism. over the weekend wrapping up a search of this landfill for evidence. officials say dzhokhar tsarnaev's mother is a "person of interest" and would likely be detained for question. her husband planned to come to boston last week but we are now told he is too ill to travel. >> happening now, bart is ready to announce how they plan to keep people who cause problems out of bart stations and off the trains. our reporter is at the embarcardero station in san francisco. how would this work? >> the big change and we hear from some passenger would like the idea and some who have concerns. bart is going to have the power to ban people from the trains and stations and the property if
